Which roof profile is suit for the factory?

Besides from choosing the roof from its profile and color, are there more factors do we need to consider?

Before making a decision of the roof, it is not enough to just consider in the roof profile or color because those are for the appearance part only, so we need to consider more factors to prevent the future problem. In choosing the steel roof, considering in roof profile, thickness, coating, fixing system, purlin spacing of the various type of steel sheet roof which effect on the strength, appearance, sun and rain prevention, and also the quality of the installation skill and the available budget.

Type of fixing system

Type of fixing system is divided in 3 systems refer to method of fixing.

1. The roof installing with Concealed Fixed system or Boltless system, are available for both Concealed-fixing method and Seamlock 180 method. Concealed-fixing method is the roof sheet installation by fixing the roof sheet with the clip fixed on the purlin, Seamlock 180 method is fixing the sheet with the connector and then seam 180 degree with the Seamer machine, so the fastener doesn’t pass through the sheet. The advantages are effective anti-leakage, easy and fast to install, on-site roll forming without end laps, and available for low slope angle at 1 degrees (depending on the roof profile)

Concealed-fixing method

Seamlock 180 method

Seamlock 180 method is fixing the sheet with the connector and then seam 180 degree with the Seamer machine to tighten the roof sheets together which strengthen the roof system.

2. The roof installing with Bolt system is fixed the roof sheet to the purlin with screw. The advantages are easy and fast installation, budget saving, and recommend for 5 degrees slope. The caution may leakage at position of screw from sealing washer under screw head. The unskilled installer may fix over-tightened so may split the sealing washer or damaged.

3. The roof installing with Seam 360 degrees system (Standing Seam) is fitting the roof sheet with Move Clip and doing Seam 360 degrees by Seamer machine to tighten the roof sheets together which strengthen the roof system. The advantages are excellent water tightness, fast installation, seam the long roof with no joints, good supportive for the sheet expansion and contraction, available in the lowest slope angle at 1 degree.
